My Hobby Container Gardening

I Love my Patio. It is so fun to see plants grow from something deep in the dirt to little green points popping out and to leaves and then flowers. This year I planted some Bulbs in early March. Now they are so big and fluffy. I am waiting on the flowers to bloom. I think I have the Prettiest Patio on the Block. Big change from the one that use to have the Ugliest Yard on the Block. I hated yard work but I Love Container Gardening.

GOD BLESS AMERICAN AND WATCH OVER OUR TROOPS

If you ever get the opportunity to welcome back our Troops at DFW GO. You will have the chance to put faces with a war you may or may not believe in but you will BELIEVE in those FACES and Love them all.

The American Revolution

From 1775 to 1782, the Americans faced off against the largest empire in the world. Led by General Washington they won.

Mexican-American War

Dispute over Texas joining the Union resulted in US conquest of California and the balance of the Southwest.

The Civil War

It was America's bloodiest war as brother fought brother.

The Spanish-American War

America became a world power with its victory over the Spanish in this war.

World War I

Millions died in the fields of Europe, sometimes while fighting over a few disputed yards. First major war of the century.

World War II

It was a war like no other, and covered all corners of the globe.

The Korean War

Some call it the forgotten war, but for two years America fought a full fledged war to keep South Korea free.

Vietnam War

It was the longest war that the United States fought and the only one that the United States lost.

Desert Storm

The last war America took part in the 20th century took place when Kuwait was invaded by Iraq.

Operation Enduring Freedom

War came to America on September 11th 2001 with an attack on NY and Washington. Not since the Battle of Antietem had so many Americans perished in a day.

Iraqi Freedom

On March 19th 2003 the United States invaded Iraq to overthrow the government of Saddam Hussein. Presently our US troops continue to fight an in insurgency there.

Happy Mother's Day 2010

God created Woman to be the Helper to man. To be his Equal. Where man lacks woman picks up the slack. We are to be the Givers and to Nourish All the things we are in charge of. It is a privilege to care for the ones we love. When you Mom's out there feel down or unappreciated, know that Jesus is proud of you and he knows you are doing the best you can with what you have. You are loved by many but the greatest love for you is the love of Jesus. If you are a Great-Great Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Best Friend, Pet Momma and Any Kind of Momma you are the most important person to the ones that love you. I love you ALL!

Guess I should Blog Something

Up this morning on what was planned to be a relaxing day hanging out, sitting by the pool, drinking a cup of coffee and reading a book.....hummmm.......Wishful Thinking. Instead I will be going to Medical City for the day. Mimi is back in the hospital for the 6th time in 7 months. This time something about her liver. She is getting so frustrated with all the health issues. I am stressing because things aren't getting easier for her and I'm starting to question if she should be alone in her house. When I checked her into the hospital the attendant asked me if she has Home Health Care. I said. "Is there someone I could talk to about getting her that. Answer was sure we will send someone up to help you. " Wow....God delivers right on time. Just what I need to get a new plan for my Mom. Because frankly, current plan of stopping by checking on her for a few minutes a day, ain't working for me. Mainly because I can't observe her long enough to see how she really is doing. She tries to be all independent and act like she is OK when she really isn't OK.
Thanks for stopping by today Bloggies. Totally random here....Should I get these Boots?

"BELOVED"

Today I sent an e-mail to the A & E Show called Intervention. I have actually never watched this show but I have had more than a few people tell me about it. The Intervention would be for a precious child of God and his name means "Beloved."
Prayer for Beloved:
"May you be healed by the hands of God, May you know the Love of Jesus and May the Holy Spirit guide you to change."

Buddy has a Slipped Disc.....What does this mean?

Got up this morning and as always get ready to take Buddy out for a walk and go potty. He usually beats me to the door. Not this morning. I had to wake him up in his bed. He could not raise his head. I got him to stand up on his own but his head was straight down with his nose straight into the carpet. I tried to raise his head and he cried. So sad. Scooped him up and off to the Vet. We were waiting in the car when the nurses drove in. We got into the room and Dr. Austin came right in. He looked at him and in 1 minute tops he diagnosed Buddy with a Slipped Disc. He calmed me down and said it was very common and always happens with the same symtoms. So treatment consists of an injection of Dexasone, Laser therapy and 10mg of Prednisone twice a day for 5 days, strict rest for at least 4 weeks all to reduce inflammation and pain .

Why does a disc 'slip'?
A slipped disc can happen in 2 ways:

1. Rupture of a healthy disc can be caused by trauma (such as a road traffic accident, or a fall from height) with tearing of the annulus fibrosus.
2. Degeneration of the disc is a result of a premature ageing process. This causes progressive thickening of the dorsal part of the annulus fibrosus which presses up on the spinal cord (disc protrusion). Disc degeneration is more common in the regions of the spine which are particularly exposed to physical stress (the lower neck, mid-back and lower-back).

Never found the Coconut Liners so used the same ones from last year. This year I choose a Purple, Lavender and Yellow Color Scheme. The Plan is for the Sweet Potato Plant to grow so that it hangs down to the ground. I'll post more pictures in a few months to show the growth.
