You've Been Tagged

I was tagged by Ericka (Andrea's Super Sweet Friend) to give 8 random facts/habits about myself. I couldn't limit it to 8 so I did 10. Can you say "FREAK"

The Rules:1. I have to post these rules before I give you the facts.2. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules. (**if you’re a non-blogger, you can email them!)4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.My ten random facts and/or habits:

Fact#1. At 17 years old I had a one year old, David and a newborn, Andrea. Their Father and I owned a home in Lewisville with a mortgage payment of $93.00 per month and did not have a car. Yes, I said "We had No Car." I had to rely on family or neighbors to take me to the store to get necessity items for my babies. Their Father hitchhiked to work.

Fact#2. I Coached a Soccer Team for my son, David, ages 4 and 5 year old. I had never ever done any kind of sports as a child myself and didn't know the first thing about soccer. I got a book from the Library and had a great time learning to play soccer along with my son and little team. At the end of the season the parents gave me a Plank that said "Coach, Penny" and told me they had NO idea I didn't know anything about soccer. I still have that Plank and its the only Sports related award I have ever received.

Fact#3. I collect Walrus Figurines. When I was around 14 everyone I knew collected something. I was at a store with my Grandmother and I told her I wanted to collect something like everyone else did. She suggested birds, unicorns, dogs etc. I saw a Walrus on the shelf and said to her I want to collect those pointing to a Walrus. She bought me my first Walrus. Over the years I have collected some pretty cool Walrus Figurines. They are in boxes right now just waiting for me to get my Apartment more organized so I can display them. I have one that was bought at a garage sale for .50 cents. It is my favorite one.

Fact#4. I am embarrassed to admit this but I am a Re-Gifter. Sometimes when I get a gift I am excited and appreciate the gift but I am thinking what a great gift this would be for .......! I actually have a Re-Gift Drawer. I'm very good about keeping the gifts in order of who gave it to me. So don't worry you will never receive a gift that you had given to me.

Fact#5. I have had an Ear Wax Build Up Problem all my life. Every 2 or 3 months I have to clean out my Ears with a Water Pic (the kind of old school water pic that you use to clean your teeth with.) About 35 years ago I went to the Doctor and that's what he used to clean my ears. The Doctor specifically said to me "Never Never do this yourself you could burst your ear drum.) Having No Money for a Doctor's Apt. will make people do things they aren't professionally trained to do. I have been cleaning my own ears for 35 years. I consider myself a professional at this but don't ask me to clean your ears. Takes just the right amount of water pressure and sticking the pic down your ear in the right place. You would be amazed at what comes out of my ears. Now for my problem....Andrea's Husband, Jonathan has a Bee Hive with many bees. I am afraid to go near that bee hive because the bees might sense new Wax and fly in my ears. I am a "Queen Bee" but really now, I'm not prepared to carry a hive around on my head the rest of my life.

Habit#1. I organize the clothes in my closet by color. All the reds are together, blues are together etc. That way I don't have to decide what to wear I have to decide what color to wear. I'll post a picture of my closet for you.

Habit#2. I do things on the same days of the week. On Sunday I wash the sheets on my bed. On Monday I dust and vacuum. On Tuesday I open my mail for the week. On Wednesday I clean the bathroom. On Thursday I do my personal laundry. Friday and Saturday are free days and I do nothing. I developed this habit when I had my in home daycare. I only had about 1 or 2 hours a day to get things done during the kids nap time and it was easier to just have a routine that was the same each week. I didn't have the think about what I needed to do that day because it was the same every week.
If I do not do the task on the assigned day I wait until the next assigned day to do that task.

Habit#3 I am addicted to Flannel Sheets. I have Flannel sheets on my bed YEAR ROUND. Even if it is 100 degrees out I am sleeping on Flannel Sheets. My favorites are Flannel Sheets with Snowflakes or Snowman on them. I search every year for a new pair with something snow related on them. My Flannel Sheets make me HAPPY.

Habit#4 I love costume jewelry. I have to match my outfit with jewelry. If I don't have jewelry on I feel undressed. I will be all ready to go somewhere and if I don't have the right jewelry to wear I won't show up or I'll go by the store to get some jewelry to wear with my outfit. I don't become attached to any of my jewelry. I have been known to give it away or throw it away if I get tired of it. I am happiest when I have just the right jewelry for just the right outfit. I don't feel like others notice how much effort I put into matching my jewelry with my outfits so all you bloggers reading this pay attention to MY JEWELRY next time you see me. It will make me SMILE :) P.S. Don't give me jewelry, I might revert to Fact # 4.

Habit#5 I saved this one for last. I have eaten the same Breakfast for as long as I can remember (at least 30 years) and that is 2 Eggo Waffles..NO Butter No Jelly nothing on them. I toast them in the toaster just like bread. There have been times that I burned them a little and I eat them anyway. I will not eat Eggo Waffles any other time of the day just Breakfast. I will go out for Breakfast with Family or Friends but I have already had my 2 Eggos earlier. Love them Eggos. The Eggo Slogan is "They make you warm inside." On the commercial that ran for many years the Eggos were like hallos over the Children's Heads as they left for school. I think of my Eggos as Angels watching over me everyday. Seriously, I really do think that.

OK, I have tagged Paula, Rosemary, Sheila, JeanE, Nancy, Sara, Veronica, and Gail.
"A Friend is a Blessing from God and they tell you the truth even if it hurts." Love you all. Can't wait for your facts and/or habits.

LOL This is so fun being tagged! I love the regifting--I'm guilty too. Especially when I get teacher Christmas gifts from my little babe in Mother's Day Out-- I always think Oh Jordan's teacher will like that or Oh my cousing Valerie will enjoy this! LOL I knew a lot of your facts but not the indepth explanations behind all of the fun facts. Like the Walrus collecting origination and the doing chores on specific days etc. I will be sure and take note of your matching jewelry to your outfits in the future! What did you wear today to Josh's going away party? Sorry I missed it!
