My Title is Beware of Public Records.Com and A DIVINE APPOINTMENT

I wanted to share a story with everyone that happened last week. This lady came up to my Front Counter at work on Wednesday. She was talking to one of my Clerks and she said that there were some things on her credit record that was preventing her from getting a loan for her son to go to college. Of course, since I have a kiddo in College my ears perked up. Seems that the Financial Institution (name not revealed) and Sallie Mae the loan was finding all kinds of stuff (Judgments) that were linked to her name. There were 9 of them all totaling $15,000. The years involved from 2002 to 2006. The Loan Officer told her that she had to get this cleared up or NO LOAN. She had already dropped her kiddo off at College the weekend prior because the school said everything was OK. So she went to each of the Plaintiffs in the cases on Monday and Tuesday and was told that the records had been shredded or no records were in their systems. Weird thing is all these judgments did NOT show up on any of the three Credit Reporting Agencies (TransUnion, Equifax, Experian) only Public Records.Com. I did a little investigation and found that in all the cases the Judgments had been satisfied but on our system (Dallas County) we don't have a field to show that nor do we have a field where Social Security Numbers are entered. I wrote a letter for her and Sallie Mae would not accept it. SHOCK ring through me. These WERE NOT HER DEBTS. At that point it was my mission to slamdunk this Financial Institution and Sallie Mae Representatives. I had this poor lady in my office Wednesday, Thursday and Friday trying to get this fixed. We literally were on hold between both days a total on 8 HOURS. Finally I got the President of Sallie Mae Loans on the phone (wish I could type his name here but probably shouldn't.) He had a fax in his office that I was sending all the documentation that proved this was NOT HER. At first he really didn’t care too much about the situation and was annoyed I had gotten by his secretary. I don't even remember all I said to make him listen but Words were flying out of my mouth about how dare them. This young man could be the President of the United States someday and this was outrageous that they would rely on Public Records.Com for such important information. The lady was crying the whole time I was talking because she was in such SHOCK, she was basically mentally paralyzed. The man on the other end of the phone will never forget talking to me on Friday I promise you. I Thank the LORD for giving me a voice on Friday. At 3:00 PM the Loan was APPROVED. THE ABSOLUTE DEADLINE was 4:00 PM and this lady would have had to drive 6 hours to pick up her son from Grambling State University in Louisiana and tell him he couldn't go to that College. I cry just writing this because it was so unfair and no one would listen to her or me until Friday. After the fax came through that the LOAN was approved we both just sat there and cried there were no words left in me but these. I said to her "You know who made this happen? She said "Yes, I BELIEVE." Enough said. We had never even discussed our faith all week. She was guided to the right place and I got involved which I don't usually do (long story here but I met her in the parking lot with a plan) and we got to the right person on the phone. It was a DIVINE APPOINTMENT.

Everything happens for a reason good and bad things. Had this not turned out as good as it did it would have still been worth it because now I am going to demand that our system administrator have a field added so the Court can enter that judgments have been satisfied. The lady is going to go after Public Records.Com for the mix up of identity regarding her record. We had to do what we could in a short amount of time we had and that was work the system. Now tackling the real problem will take a lot more time.
