Holy Cow...I had to endure all this weather talk at work today. I don't mean to make any jokes about the serious situation on the Gulf Coast but come on people. We are 300 miles North of the Coast...we get high winds and rain. OK...so I get home today and what is on my door but a WEATHER WARNING from the Apartment Management Team. I walk Buddy as usual and run into two other people all freaked out telling me I should make sure I have gas, a flashlight and food. I get back to my Apartment and decide I should go to the store just in case. I get gas at 3.65 per gallon. So if gas goes to $4.00 a gallon I have saved $5.00 yippee. Then I go to Wal-mart not sure what to get but I walk the isles and finally settle on 2 apples with low fat dipping Carmel, a pumpkin flashlight with batteries, Ben and Jerry Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream and for some reason I felt I needed some make up remover cotton pads ( I wouldn't want to get caught with smudged mascara RIGHT.) I am safely home waiting on IKE with Buddy. I guess I should feel better and prepared. But GASP!!!! AM I PREPARED AM I REALLY PREPARED!!!!

Penny, I was totally thinking as I was staring at a cart full of groceries that I never would buy if it weren't for Ike... I have more than cancelled out what I will save in gas by buying all of this junk food. So, like you, I might have saved $5 in gas, but I spent $60 at the grocery store. Man we are not used to this!
THATS AWESOME!!!!!!!! i wish i was goin through a hurricane!!!!
Mother...makeup cotton pads?
LOL! Hilarious.
I bought premade california rolls. (low carb) And..I got fish sticks. (not sure why?)
Call me tomorrow,
Love ya,

Ok BLOG GIRL. I read your side bar and you are so MISS BLOG now.
Love it. I voted "no" at first thinking it was the "yes" button. So, that no is me. I went back and voted yes!
And..love your BIRTHDAY WISH LIST!!
SO funny PENNYHOPE!
OK...it is best to be prepared!!! I am not sure that cotton pads make the emegency kit list but whatevs...Saving money on gas is important but not as important as making sure you have gas if you need to flee to higher ground, STOP LAUGHING!! it could happen!! I always think if my house got flooded I could drive my car to high ground and live in the car for a few days...I am always thinking about stuff like that. DO you have an emergency plan?? Where would you go?? I mean when I came to your apt. I scouted out the best place to go in case of a tornado..I do that everywhere, always thinking( I am tapping my brain)By the way it was the pantry. Just FYI you would starve to death with those groceries. Lets just say the power goes out all over town, the stores are closed and flood waters cover the roads and power lines are down everywhere...nothing is open and you have no power. What are you going to eat??Ben and Jerrys? What about the Buddy?? I just don't think you are prepared, you could however keep you makeup perfect with your current plan. Way to go. L.
Love the Pumpkin Flashlight! Well- just wanted to let you know that in the Mormon tradition-- we have a '72 hour Kit' for each person in the family packed up in a backpack AND a year supply of food under the beds! JUST IN CASE... LOL so no worries here except if a tornado blows our house to bits and we lose our supplies! LOL
I so should have been a Mormon...
