Phase 1 for Joshua and Jaw Surgery

After 1 year of battling with the Insurance Company Josh is in Phase I of his future Jaw Surgery which was finally APPROVED. My poor baby had to go back into braces for the 2nd time. The Orthodontist showed us a skeletal view of exactly what needs to happen before the surgery. Upper teeth will be spread wider and front teeth will be pushed in. They have flared out to compensate for the under bite situation. Lower teeth will be pushed inward. His profile will look a lot worst prior to surgery but after the jaw is cut (ouch) he will have a new profile and NO UNDER BITE. Surgeon asked if anyone in Josh's Family has had to have this done because it is genetic. To our knowledge no one has had this done. By doing this now Josh will NOT have future Jaw problems that could be very extreme and very painful. Plan for now is to have the surgery over Thanksgiving Break unless Surgeon and Orthodontist decide to do it sooner.

Oh, poor guy. I had to wear braces for 4 years... My dentist asked me 2 weeks ago if I wanted to put them back on because my teeth had moved. NOOOOO....I don't care at this point! Poor Joshy!! I will pray for him...How does he feel about the surgery?
